From someone who set out with his 40-year-old SX-64 to visit an equally ancient Commodore 64 BBS - not old-school with a modem, but through a DIY null-modem cable hooked up over the internet.

It turned out to be much more difficult than expected, with all sorts of cable shenanigans that of course refused to work - and ultimately even resulted in the SX-64 needing repairs.

Hm, I have an SX-64, and I use a home-made ESP8266-based userport modem.. and also a pi1541-zero. Sure, it takes some doing, but it's not OMG such a big deal. Not sure why you need a 30 minute video for this.

I wanted people who aren't very
familiar with the SX-64 or hardware stuff in general (like me) to be able to follow along.
The wonderfully detailed material Ray sent me is perfect for that.
And of course I didn't want to butcher it into some TikTok clip.
